Nyala Pema Duddul | T. nyag bla pad ma bdud 'dul | (1816-1872)


Terton Nyala Pema Duddul (or Dündul) was a great siddha from Nyarong, East Tibet. He was the lama of Terton Nyala Sogyal, who was the Dzogchen teacher and root Lama of H.H. Dalai Lama XIII.

Nyala Pema Duddul wrote the Song of Advice for Giving Up the Eating of Meat in which he declares:

"When I think about the suffering that meat-eating brings,
I can not bear it and I feel pain and anguish in my heart."

"When I have seen the boundless faults that come from eating meat,
Even to think about it makes me sick like I have been poisoned"
